Immerse Yourself in the Beauty of Wyoming and Yellowstone

For today's Adventures by Disney highlighted trip we are taking a look at the "Quest for the West"-- the adventure that takes you to some of America's most beautiful places like Jackson Hole, Brooks Lake, the Grand Teton's, and Yellowstone. This trip brings together the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation within some of the most amazing landscapes you will find in the United States.

This 7 day, 6 night adventure begins in the mountainside retreat of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. For two nights you will stay at the historic Wort Hotel in the heart of the town. During your time in Jackson Hole you will get to take in the all that the "Gateway to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks" has to offer-- amazing activities, great shopping, and awesome food.

The highlights of the Jackson Hole portion of the adventure begin with a private lunch at the Jackson Hole playhouse, where you will enjoy western-themed foor and entertainment. After lunch you will take a whitewater rafting trip down the Snake River. For those wanting something a little more relaxing, you can do a scenic float trip instead.

After Jackson Hole you are off to Yellowstone National Park. Here you will stay at the award-winning Old Faithful Snow Lodge located inside the park. For the next two days you will get to explore the majesty of these national treasures. You will take a ferry ride to go explore Grand Teton National Park and hike to see an 80-foot waterfall. You will visit the West Thumb Geyser Basin where you can explore geysers, mudpots, and other awesome thermal activity.

Of course no trip to Yellowstone would be complete without seeing Old Faithful and Junior Adventurers will even get to build their own geyser at the lodge! You will also get to discover magical places like Hayden Valley, Artist Point, the Upper and Lower Waterfalls, and Lake Yellowstone. And along the way keep an eye out for amazing animals like the majestic bison.

After exploring Yellowstone you set off for Brooks Lake Lodge and Spa-- truly one of the most amazing resorts you will find anywhere in the United States! The next two days are all about living the life of a cowboy. Your family will set off on a horseback trail ride through the mountains with real life cowboys, learning to rope, ride, hoot, and holler. 

When not exploring the countryside you will get the chance to do many other activities.  Take a nature hike through the mountains with a local nature guide. Try your hand at archery or perhaps finally learn to fly fish. Maybe hop in a canoe and explore the beautiful lake. Or, simply climb into the spa and relax at the resort. Special activities will be there for Junior Adventurers as well, including an awesome movie night just for the kids.

I have to be honest and say this trip is VERY high on my family bucket list. While I'd absolutely love to go with my husband on the Italy adventure I truly believe this one is tailor made for families who want to get outside and see the world. Everyone I know who has done this trip has not only come back with amazing memories, but a better appreciation of how our own country can be.
