Royal Caribbean Navigator of the Seas Review

My husband and I recently had the opportunity to spend a night on board Royal Caribbean‘s Navigator of the Seas. It was an amazing experience and quite a treat !

Our cruise actually began with a fun scavenger hunt that let guests learn more about the ship. This included a number of stops at special experiences and food tastings throughout the ship.

At Sabor Modern Mexican we tasted the house speciality– guacamole! I am a HUGE fan of guac and found the taste to be amazing. You could tell just how fresh it was and the special care given to making this great food.

From there we visited both Chops, the on board steakhouse, and Giovanni’s Table, the specialty italian restaurant. Both offered great food choices that will certainly give you that extra touch of elegance you might be looking for on a romantic adult evening. The staff was also very knowledgeable of the entire menu offerings and was more than prepared to make your dining experience amazing.

After we toured the specialty restaurants we spent some time in the Solarium. This adult-only pool area offers a opulent getaway from the hustle-and-bustle of the rest of the ship. It is a great opportunity to grab an adult beverage, kick up your feet and just relax.

Then we got to head off to dinner at the main dining room. To say this space is huge would be an absolute understatement! At three stories tall you have the ability to enjoy an intimate meal for two or have a large family gathering full of energy. The third floor offers a system of dining at your own time vs sitting at one of the two main seating times. Great for people looking for added flexibility on their trip.

After a wonderful meal that featured steak and lobster, we headed off to watch an ice skating show. Yes, I said an ice skating show! The international cast and crew put on an amazing display of skill in tight quarters. I was simply in awe of their ability to execute all of the moves you see on TV only a few feet away from guests! And the closing scene to “Amadeus” really made this child of the 80’s super happy!

With full bellies and more than entertained from the ice show, my husband and I decided we’d take a walk down the central park section of the ship. This multi-floor open air are is really the heartbeat of the entire ship. Surrounded by shops, other specialty dining options, wine bars, and the casino below, the central park is full of energy. The live musical acts were also amazing– we constantly found ourselves stopping to enjoy another artist!

The evening ended with a show in the main theatre from the Texas Tenor’s. This group played an amazing mix of modern and classic country, mixed with a little of the tenor classics. Such amazing voices! The whole experience really closed out the evening.

The Navigator of the Seas is definitely a ship I recommend. And the fact that it sails out of Galveston makes it the perfect option for our fellow Texans!

Note- This experience was a complimentary one-night sailing provided by Royal Caribbean to select travel agents in Texas. The company did not compensate me for this review.
