Well it is that time of year again... The Whitney's have descended upon Orlando, FL to enjoy a week at Walt Disney World. This is certain to mean lots of fun rides, maybe a temper tantrum or two, and of course LOTS of sweets!

Lots of fun is in store for this trip, so check out how it's gone so far and what is to come!

We drove 16 hours in from Houston and arrived mid-day on Friday. Since we decided to come early last minute we booked a one night stay at the Beach Club Resort. Man am I happy we did!

The resort is currently undergoing renovations and we were lucky enough to get a recently re-done room. It was GORGEOUS! Gone is the somewhat outdated beach motif and in its place is a contemporary, luxurious take on a beach vacation.I absolutely loved the re-design, so much so that I may steal the design of the bathroom for our master bath at home!

One of the great features of these new rooms is the ability for families of five to stay here. You get two queens and a couch/day bed. Very comfortable space for larger families to enjoy.

So lots more stuff to come this week and well into the future as we catch you up on the latest happenings here at Disney World.

Be sure to follow along on twitter as we put pics of our trip.

We took in a little bit of Epcot and enjoyed dinner at the Electric Umbrella. The new menu features some good fare that gets away from the typical hamburger and chicken finger approach to theme parks food, but don't worry that's still there too! My husband got worried at first that they'd made his Epcot go-to a little "fru fru".

After dinner we got the kids settled back at the resort and then went to do a little bit of adult time-- the joys of having a teenager who can watch kids. We spent a little time in Epcot before it rained then we just enjoy some drinks and desert back at the resort. It was just an hour or so of time, but those moments of getting away are precious for couples! We also really enjoyed walking around the resort as the sunset!

Today we made the move from the Beach Club to Disney's Villas at the Grand Floridian. Guys, we may have found my new favorite resort! A review is coming when this trip is over, so be on the lookout.

Between the rain and moving between hotels we took the day easy. Spent some time at the Magic Kingdom and saw "Talking Mickey"-- an awesome experience (video coming soon). We also caught the Seven Dwarf's Mine Train, which is my son Trey's new favorite ride.
